    GENERAL TERMS and CONDITIONS

    CLASS SCHEDULES, TERMS, AND SCHOOL HOLIDAYS

    Due to the specialized nature of our education programs, DVA Ambulance does not maintain a regular term schedule. The courses are held as the need for such programs in the community are identified or there is a request from a specific agency or organization for a program. Therefore, those interested in enrolling in DVA Ambulance education programs should visit our online schedule for available courses.

    DVA Ambulance’s Education Department is close for the following holidays. New Years Day, New Years Eve, Christmas Day Christmas Eve, Easter, Memorial Day, Labor Day, Independence Day, Thanksgiving, Martin Luther king Day, September 11th of each year, and any other days that may be identified in the course syllabus. Students will be made aware of the course schedule when enrolling and will be made aware of any changes.

    EDUCATIONAL POLICIES

    DVA Ambulance is required by MDCH and MDCD to maintain certain policies and procedures. Copies of the detailed specific polices are available upon request. Longer courses such as Medical First Responder, Emergency Medical Technician, and Paramedic will have these policies included in the course syllabus. Below are brief summaries of key education policies.

    In addition, all DVA Ambulance sponsored courses and classrooms must follow these basic rules:

    Smoking and all other tobacco products are prohibited.
    Current approved course textbooks are required.
    Weapons are prohibited, including those with CCW permit.
    Instructors do not carry cash.
    Report any inappropriate behavior to your instructor

    DVA Ambulance will not discriminate on the basis of gender, race, religion, appearance, sexual orientation, and/or physical disability.  Reasonable accommodations will be made to assist perspective students in meeting the didactic and psychomotor objectives of the educational programs as long as those accommodations do not alter the minimum course requirements

    Criminal History

    The National Registry of EMTs and/or the Michigan Department of Community Health may deny an applicant the right to participate in testing, certification and/or licensure based on criminal history.  If you have a criminal history, before enrolling in any EMS education program, you should contact both the NREMT and MDCH for specific information on their policies and to review your specific situation to ensure you would be eligible for certification and licensure.

    CPR/FIRST AID TERMS, CONDITIONS, and REFUND POLICY

    Certification Cards

    Instructors do not issue certification cards. Cards are distributed by DVA Ambulance upon successful completion of the course. In order for DVA Ambulance to issue a card, prompt payment is required, which is included in the course tuition. This must be paid to your instructor. You should receive your card within 7 to 10 days. If you do not, please contact DVA Ambulance

    Replacement Certification Cards

    DVA Ambulance makes every attempt to send certification cards in a timely and accurate manner. At times, due to circumstances beyond our control, cards do not make it to their destination. Because of that DVA Ambulance will only reissue cards free of charge if the error was made on our part; otherwise standard fees apply for all card replacements. DVA Ambulance maintains copies of all cards issued, if needed a copy can be mailed to you free of charge. If your card is returned to us, we will contact you to verify the address. All cards are shipped USPS First Class, unless a different method is requested and paid for.



  • Shipping & Delivery
  • At this time, DVA Ambulance ships merchandise only to locations within the continental United States and not to international locations. Nor does DVA Ambulance ship to Alaska, Hawaii, Puerto Rico, Guam or the US Virgin Islands. The risk of loss and title for all merchandise ordered on this Web site pass to you when the merchandise is delivered to the shipping carrier.

    EMS Refund Policy

    All tuition and fees paid by the student shall be refunded if the student is rejected prior to completion of enrollment. DVA Ambulance does reserve the right to charge up to $25 for an application-processing fee. Any student canceling enrolment of an educational program with in three (3) business days is entitled to a refund of any tuition's and fees, less up to a $25.00 application processing fee. 

    Once the program has been started the student will be responsible for the complete cost of the program. Students dismissed for disciplinary or academic reasons are responsible for the entire cost of the program. If a program is cancelled by DVA Ambulance prior to the start of the program, a full refund will be given to all students.  Any refunds will be issued by DVA Ambulance check with in thirty (30) days.

     

    CPR/First Aid Refund Policy

    All tuition and fees paid by the student shall be refunded if the student is not accepted prior to completion of enrollment. DVA Ambulance does reserve the right to charge up to $25 for an application-processing fee. Any student canceling enrolment of an educational program with in three (3) business days is entitled to a refund of any tuition's and fees, less up to a $25.00 application processing fee. Once textbooks are shipped to the student, any refund given will be less the cost of the textbooks and a processing fee of $10.00.

    Once the program has been started the student will be responsible for the complete cost of the program. Students dismissed for disciplinary or academic reasons are responsible for the entire cost of the program. If a program is cancelled by DVA Ambulance prior to the start of the program, a full refund will be given to all students.  Any refunds will be issued by DVA Ambulance check with in thirty (30) days.

     

    AHA Online Key Codes and Refund Policy

    Once an Online Key Code is issued, refunds are not possible. Once issued, it is considered the student has begun the program and students are responsible for the entire cost of the program, whether the course/certification is completed or not.
